On September 25, 2008, Jimmy Bradley will preside as Culinary Chair at the 2008 Flavors of New York Culinary Gala to benefit the American Liver Foundation. This exclusive event offers a limited number of guests a unique gourmet experience as well as an opportunity to honor leaders in the medical community. Jimmy has put together an "A-List" of chefs for the event which will be held at the elegant Pierre Hotel. Jimmy's team includes Jonathan Waxman, Joey Campanaro, Aaron Sanchez, Amanda Frietag and Colleen Grapes, each preparing a course. Previous culinary chairs of this gala include Daniel Bouley, Gray Kunz, Sirio Maccioni, and Drew Nieporent. All proceeds go to the New York chapter of The American Liver Foundation for research, education, patient and family support and increased public awareness. October 1st, 2008, Cipriani Wall Street
On Wednesday, October 1st, The Harrison's Executive Chef Amanda Freitag and Jimmy Bradley will take part in the 2nd Annual Autism Speaks To Wall Street: A Celebrity Chef Gala. This is a unique and large scale VIP dinner extravaganza taking place at Cipriani Wall Street in the heart of Manhattan's Financial District. The festivities begin with a cocktail reception followed by a four course meal prepared by one of over 60 celebrity chefs. Each chef will be assigned a table to cook for. The evening concludes with a musical performance by Harry Connick Jr as well as a live auction featuring exclusive luxury items. This will be the signature event of the year for the Wall Street community. The goal of the evening is to raise money to help support families with autistic children and help find a cure for this disease. One out of every 150 children born is afflicted with Autism. The Red Cat is proud to be part of the innaugural Food Network New York City Food and Wine Festival, October 9th-12th. It is the sister event to the South Beach Food and Wine Festival which draws thousands to the Miami area every February. This four day celebration of all things culinary will take part in the meatpacking district and various landmark locations such as DUMBO in Brooklyn. There will be book signings and interviews with Anthony Bourdain, Alice Waters and Gordon Ramsay and appearances by many Food Network personalities including Bobby Flay and Rachel Ray. Calling all foodies! Gourmet magazine is holding its 6th Annual Gourmet Institute, a weekend long celebration of the magazine and food culture that it promotes. The Harrison's Executive Chef, Amanda Freitag will join over 30 other notable New York City chefs at Pier Sixty at Chelsea Piers for the 16th Annual Feast with Famous Faces. Over 700 guests are expected for the evening which benefits The League for the Hard of Hearing. The League for the hard of Hearing, which was founded in 1910, provides services for those suffering with hearing loss and strives to ensure their lives are without limits. Each chef will prepare a signature dish with the help of their celebrity sous-chef. These sous-chefs will include many local news, weather and sportscasters.
