Few people in the restaurant industry can count the number of luminaries as mentors that Steven can. He's worked with Haken Swahn at Aquavit; Jeremiah Tower at Stars; Wolfgang Puck at Postrio and Spago Las Vegas; and Danny Meyer at Eleven Madison Park, where he was opening GM in 1998.
In 2001, Steven helped Jimmy Bradley launch The Harrison, whose planned September debut was delayed by the tragic events at the World Trade Center -- just blocks away from the restaurant. Despite the circumstances, Steven's signature charm and trademark hospitality helped turn The Harrison into one of the top neighborhood destinations in New York.
Steven left the Harrison in 2003 to lead the opening team of New York's Lever House, which, under his management, won New York Magazine's 2004 Best Service Award.
In 2007, Steven reteamed with Jimmy as managing partner of Red Cat Restaurants, which operates both The Harrison and The Red Cat. He picked up right where he'd left off, running restaurants that offer warm, professional service, acclaimed food and a great vibe.
Steven is excited to do it all over again as the team prepares to open their new Nolita restaurant, J&S Food Hall, this spring. The initials J and S? Jimmy and Steven, of course.
